Hi I’m Albie,

I'm a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a LGBTQIA+ practice working with individuals, relationships and groups in Central London and Online.

People seek therapy for different reasons - You might be struggling with anxiety and depression or facing challenging life events that leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your partner(s), others and the world. Or you might be wanting to explore your gender/sexual identities and experiences in a non-judgemental and safe space. Whilst all emotions are natural expressions of our human nature, traumatic events and systemic issues can be disorienting leaving us feeling hopeless and stuck in a place of hurting.

Using humanistic philosophies and psychodynamic approaches, I aim to offer a contained and confidential environment within a healing therapeutic relationship that allows us to reflect on your experiences and identify the obstacles you face. Through a process of exploration, reflection and relating, we will work together to make sense of your narratives, finding meaning and purpose, and mobilise the resources you need to facilitate change.

My approach to therapy is one of compassion for our humanity and wonder about how we exist in the world. I am interested in knowing "what happened to you" rather than "what's wrong with you". Whether you seek therapy to heal, recover, explore or grow, I aim to offer you a non-judgemental space for us to work on what’s important for you.

As a queer therapist, I understand how some of these experiences and challenges might be different for those of us in the LGBTQIA+ community. My work is informed by queer and feminist frameworks aimed at observing the broader cultural, social and political nuances of each experience.

I look forward to meeting you and contributing to your journey to good mental health.

I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and the International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis (IARTA). I adhere to guidelines from these reputable institutions to maintain an ethical practice and to continue professional development.
