Hi,

It was during my time teaching refugees and asylum seekers, and subsequently working with older adults experiencing depression, anxiety and loneliness, that I discovered the great healing power in finding the right person to sit with and tell our ‘stories’ to. It was following on from these careers that I decided to train to be a Psychotherapist.

People want to be heard, to know they have an impact on others, that they matter and what they have to say is important. Relationships can be very healing when we feel safe and understood enough, to bring our full selves – the light and the darkness. My aim as a Psychotherapist is to be that person and provide such a space, and in doing so to transform your relationship with both yourself and others.

I am also very interested in how broader society socially, culturally, and politically shapes us. For example, suppose we fall between the 'gaps' of what is considered acceptable by society as a result of our sexuality, gender, age, religion, class, race, physical impairments, mental health conditions and/or neurodiversity. What parts of ourselves do we (often without realising) suppress to be accepted and feel we belong? Together we can explore these crucial parts of yourself and consider how we can integrate those parts to feel more whole.
